Meet the coaches making a difference

The Coach for Life Foundation is shining a light on the mahi of community sports coaches across Aotearoa. Find out what drives them, what keeps them going and how they’re helping young people grow through sport.

The Coach for Life Foundation has launched its latest series of content, this time celebrating the incredible mahi of six community coaches from across the country.

The coaches include:

  • Steve Botica – a Community Basketball Coach from the Kapiti Coast
  • Peter Butler – a Community Rugby League Coach from the Manawatu
  • Carla Johl – a Community Hockey Coach from the Waikato
  • Carl Sheridan – a Community Rugby Coach from the Waikato
  • Rona Singer – a Community Netball Coach from the Wellington
  • Stephen West – a Community Football Coach from South Auckland

Each coach shares key insights and learnings from their coaching journey as a community sports coach.
